In 2013, the Migrant Mothers Project organized a series of community forums in different regions on Ontario and across Canada to better understand regional dynamics that are impacting how service providers and advocacy groups are working with women who have precarious migratory status.
Working with local partners in each location, we co-hosted five community forums in Ontario including: Kitchener-Waterloo (February 2013), Windsor (April 2013), St. Catharines (May 2013), and Ottawa (October 2013). We then ventured out of Ontario to connect with people working in Montreal (October, 2013) and Vancouver (November 2013).
The following summaries offer a brief synopsis of the content that was exchanged and ideas that were generated through these forums. Read our comprehensive report on immigration policy changes and violence against women here.
